What Can It Do?

All information regarding the medicines that you need, the amount you need to take, and the frequency at which you need to take them can be entered into MediMemory. If desired, you can also enter the amount of each medicine that you still have in your cupboard at home.

Based on this information, MediMemory provides you with reminders at the time you need to take a medicine, and also tells you the amount you need to take. It can even display a picture of the medicine!

When a medicine reminder appears, you tell MediMemory whether you have taken the medicine, want to be reminded again later, or have skipped taking the medicine this time. The response you give is used to track the amount of medicine you still have at home.

When the your medicine stock is getting low, MediMemory provides you with a warning, and offers a shopping list of all medicines that should be purchased.

In addition to the monitoring and reminder features, MediMemory also offers a set of tools to help with other areas of your medication management, such as medicine usage history, schedule change history, travel planning, and storage of information about your medical condition(s). Further information can be found in the
Getting Started section.

MediMemory allows you to store details about your Doctor, and the Prescriptions issued to you by your Doctor. When your Prescriptions are getting close to expiry, MediMemory will remind you to get them extended. Furthermore, you can now attach Notes to your Medicines, Doctors and many other items, allowing you to record discussions with your Doctor, track problems, or prepare questions in advance of your next appointment.

MediMemory should be used primarily for tracking details of the medicines you regularly use, how often you use them, in what quantities, and how much stock you still have.
The reminder functionality should be treated as a useful additional feature, but should not be relied upon as the only means of remembering to take your medications punctually. Under no circumstances should you use the information provided by MediMemory to replace the medical details and schedules provided by your Doctor. If in any doubt about your correct medication schedules, contact your Doctor.

Who Is It Suitable For?

MediMemory is suitable for anyone who uses regular medication. This does not have to be only for illnesses, such as Diabetes, Cancer, Heart Disease, High blood pressure and so on. It can also be used to monitor and manage the use of other medications, such as birth control pills or vitamin & mineral diet supplementation.

MediMemory was designed with ease of use in mind. Although it offers many powerful features to help manage common problems, it can also be used simply as a reminder system. This means, for people who are not fully comfortable with using “high-tech gadgets”, once set-up the MediMemory system can simply be left alone, only providing you with reminders whenever a medication needs to be taken, and requiring you to press a single button to confirm that you are aware of the reminder.

Of course, for the generation that have grown-up surrounded by technology, using the full set of MediMemory features will prove to be not only very simple, but also very valuable.

Never forget, the accuracy of the information that MediMemory can provide is entirely dependant upon the correctness of the details that you enter into it. Always take great care when entering your medicine and schedule details, as any mistakes will result in incorrect information being provided by MediMemory. It is your responsibility to ensure that the information in your MediMemory is correct. If you are not comfortable entering the information yourself, seek help from a family member or medical professional.

What Is MediMemory?

Many people are dependent upon multiple medications taken regularly at various times of the day or week, and in varying quantities. Managing the use of these medications introduces a number of challenges:

  • The quantity and frequency at which these medications should be taken can often be changed by a Doctor or Hospital, making it difficult to remember the correct amount to take and when to take it
  • When there are many different medications to take, it is not always easy to remember which medications have already been taken, and which still need to be taken
  • It can be difficult to keep track of the amount of each medication that’s still in the cupboard at home, how long that supply will last, and when to buy more

MediMemory was specifically designed to help people deal with theses challenges using one easy to use product.

Using MediMemory as a medication reminder system at home

If you wish to use your device primarily at home as a medication management and reminder aid, we recommend the following:

  • Purchase a suitable docking station that includes inbuilt speakers and a household mains power supply
  • Leave the iPhone / iPod touch permanently in the docking station, with the docking station connected to the mains power, switched on and set to a suitable volume level
  • Start MediMemory, and always leave MediMemory running
  • Do not turn the iPhone / iPod touch or the docking station off
  • Ensure the sound switch on the iPhone is NOT set to Mute
  • Set the iPhone / iPod touch volume to an appropriate level so that the sound produced through the docking station speakers is loud enough for your needs
  • Test your MediMemory reminder system to ensure that reminders function as expected, and can be easily heard through the docking station speakers
  • If leaving MediMemory running for extended periods of time, we would also recommend occasionally switching the iPhone / iPod touch fully off and then back on again. This will ensure any build up of data in the device memory is cleared and will not interfere with normal operation. Don’t forget to restart MediMemory afterwards!
  • When using the iPhone / iPod touch for other functions, be sure to restart MediMemory when you are finished
  • If a phone call is received while MediMemory is running, the MediMemory alarms will be put on hold until you have completed your phone call
  • Always ensure that the docking station is used in accordance with the manufacturers instructions
