Version 2.0 of both MediMemory and MediMemory Lite introduced push notifications which allow MediMemory to issue reminders when MediMemory is not running, and also when the device is in sleep mode. 5. Why do I get Low Memory warnings even though I still have loads of free space?
Your iPhone / iPod touch is similar to a Mac or PC - it has storage space (like a hard disk) and program memory (like RAM). Your music and videos are held in the storage space (8Gb, 16Gb etc.), and your device can always tell you how much free storage space it has. When programs run on your device, they run in the program memory, which is completely separated from the storage space, and much much smaller. Programs such as email, music playback and calendar all have to share this limited program running space. The result is that occasionally the amount of free program space left for running programs can get low, and when this happens your device will start to force programs to stop running in order to free up program space.
MediMemory provides you with a warning when the program space on your device is getting low, and there is a risk that MediMemory may be stopped by the device.

6. Does MediMemory support half units for medicines and schedules?
MediMemory only supports partial units for medicines that have their units set to Tablet(s). All quantity editors for tablet based medicines allow you to set quantities in multiples of half tablets. eg. 1.5 Tablets, 2 Tablets, 2.5 Tablets etc. This applies to schedules as well as medicine stock levels.

Medicine related questions
1. I have created a medicine, but I cannot enter details of how much to take and when. What's wrong?
Don't worry, there's nothing wrong. This simply means that you have not yet defined a schedule for when to take the medicine. See Defining A Medicine Schedule for an explanation of how to do this.

2. Can stock level tracking be turned off?
If you do not want MediMemory to warn you when stock levels are getting low, you can turn stock level tracking off either for an individual medicineor for all medicines. Note that if you turn off stock level tracking for all medicines, you will not longer be able to access the Stock View or the Shopping List View.

3. How can I associate photos with my medicines?
If you own an iPhone, you can use the built-in camera to take your own photos of your medicines. This can be done directly from Medicine Details View. If you own an iPod touch, MediMemory allows you to select photos from the photo library on your device. Use your own digital camera to take the photos, and then load them on to your iPod touch (or iPhone) using iTunes. Take care to ensure you associate the correct photo with the correct medicine.

Schedule related questions
1. Why can I turn the reminder off for a schedule?
You can use MediMemory to track just about anything that you use on a regular basis, not just tablets or other consumable medicines. For example, diabetics may need to use a sterilising liquid to clean the skin before injecting insulin. In such cases, you can still use MediMemory to track your stock level and usage of the sterilisation liquid. However, you will not want to receive a reminder to use the sterilisation liquid every time you have an insulin injection. MediMemory therefore allows you to schedule usage of medicines but to turn off the reminder alarm. Usage and stock level management will then be performed automatically. You will still receive a reminder when stock level of the sterilisation liquid is getting low, but you will not receive reminders to actually use the sterilisation liquid.

Tool related questions
1. Does the travel calculator plan any contingency?
The short answer to this is No. The Travel Calculator will calculate exact amounts of required medicines based on the schedule details and travel dates that you have provided. However, we recommend that, whenever you plan for travel, you should always allow extra days to allow for unforeseen delays, lost medicine or extra medicine usage that was not expected when planning your trip. You can do this by entering a return date in the Travel Calculator that is later than your actual planned return date. The number of additional days to enter depends upon many factors such as your own personal circumstances, the intended duration of your trip, the destination of your journey, the availability of additional medication in case of emergency, and so on. Ultimately it is your own responsibility to ensure you always carry a sufficient quantity of medication for any time away from home. The Travel Calculator can only provide a guideline.

2. How does MediMemory track and manage medicine stock levels?
MediMemory performs all stock management calculations based on three key pieces of information:
i. The Remaining Stock for a medicine
The Remaining Stock for a medicine can be viewed and updated on the Medicine Details View. It represents the quantity of the medicine that you still have in your cupboard at home. Every time you tell MediMemory that you have taken a medicine, either by confirming a reminder or by using the Take button, the Remaining Stock is updated. Similarly, if you use the shopping list to confirm medicine purchases, the Remaining Stock is also updated.
ii. The Low Stock Warning Period
The Low Stock Warning Period is the number of days advanced warning that you wish to receive before the stock of a medicine runs out. The default is 14 days, meaning that when the remaining stock for a medicine drops to a level where it will only last for 14 days or less, you will receive a low stock warning. The low stock warning is only issued for the first medicine that gets low on stock. The Low Stock Warning Period can be changed on the Settings page.
iii. The Stock Cycle Duration
When purchasing medicines, people who require regular long term medication will normally buy enough medicine to last a certain number of days. This number of days is referred to in MediMemory as the Stock Cycle Duration, and its default value is 60 days. This can be changed on the Settings page. The Stock Cycle Duration is primarily used in the Shopping List View when calculating how much new stock should be purchased for each medicine.
